37yr-old, with only SSC, caught ‘treating’ patients for 10 years

All he had to show was a Secondary School Certificate; no degrees on dental surgery or even professional training.

But with a fake bachelor's degree in dental surgery, Nurussafa Jahangir set up a chamber in Dhaka's Shantinagar area, with a signboard outside advertising his fake credentials.

And thus, the 37-year-old medical fraud had been treating dental patients for over a decade before being finally caught today. 

A mobile court assisted by Rab-3 carried out a drive at Jahangir's chamber and sentenced him to two years' imprisonment.

The mobile court led by executive magistrate Palash Kumar Bosu also sealed off the practice styled Oral View Dental.

Talking to The Daily Star, Bosu said, "The fraud has been deceiving people, putting their lives at risk in the name of treatment for over a decade in the heart of the capital."
