3 rapists get life term in Ctg

A Chittagong court yesterday sentenced two persons to life-term imprisonment for raping a woman after abduction in 2010.

The convicts -- Mamnunur Rashid, 27 and Delwar Hossain of Banshkhali upazila -- were also fined Tk 1 lakh. They are now on the run.

According to the prosecution, the duo forced the woman into a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in her village and raped her in a city hotel on October 20. Later, her brother filled a case.

The same court also awarded another man life-term imprisonment for raping a six-year-old girl in 2013.

Nurul Alam, 19, of Bahhadarhat area of the city raped the girl after luring her into his room to play games on his mobile phone. He is now in jail.
