24 tonnes of adulterated vermicelli seized, factory owner jailed in N'ganj

A mobile court seized 24 tonnes of adulterated vermicelli from a factory and sentenced its owner to a one-year rigorous imprisonment in Sonargaon of Narayanganj yesterday.
The court led by Mehedi Hasan, assistant commissioner (land) of Sonargaon upazila, also fined Habibur Rahman Tk 1 lakh in default to suffer three more months in jail, says a press release.
Habibur had been running the factory at his house in Puranbazar area of Kanchpur in an unhygienic environment.
