20 fall sick allegedly after eating at DU hall

At least 20 people, including six Dhaka University students, fell sick allegedly after eating meals at its Kabi Jasim Uddin Hall canteen on Thursday night.

Of them, seven canteen boys were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Contacted, Hall Provost Prof Rahmat Ullah said he has ordered to investigate the incident. However, Monirul, director of the hall canteen, claimed people fell sick after drinking unhygienic water from the hall's water supply.

Hall caretaker Alam refuted the allegation saying the water line is checked and cleaned regularly.
