2 remanded over Mirpur murder
Police arrested two persons in the capital yesterday over the murder of college student Reshma in her Mirpur house the day before.
The victim's stepbrother Robin and their security guard Milon were remanded for three days by a Dhaka court, said Mirpur Police Station Sub-inspector Touhidul Arefeen, also the investigation officer.
Robin was held as he had an altercation with Reshma and her mother several days before the killing while Milon because of his absence from his duty during the incident, the IO said.
Reshma, an HSC student at BCIC College in Mirpur, was found dead with her throat slit in her residence on Thursday.
The killers also looted 5 tola of gold from the house, said police. Police suspect that the murderers are known to Reshma and she might have been killed over family feud.
