2 qualify in Bogra regional round
Two contestants from the Bogra regional round of Rupchanda-The Daily Star Super Chef-2016 qualified for the next round yesterday.
Around 70 people participated in first stage of the round, a written test, in TMSS Mahila Market Auditorium in Bogra town.
Sixteen contestants moved on to the next stage, which was a cooking stage. The two winners of the competition are: Sanjida Islam, 25, a student of Government Polytechnic Institute of Bogra; and Melon Uddin, 32, a former banker living in Jessore.
Sanjida said cooking was her hobby and on a whim she decided to participate in the competition.
The two will now compete in the final round to be held in the capital in January.
Farhana Akhter, winner of Super Chef 2014, and Nadim Sarkar, second runner-up of Super Chef-2015, judged the Bogra regional round.
The competition was moderated by Sabrin Maruf, brand executive of Bangladesh Edible Oil Limited.
