2 DB officials get IGP award for probe performance
Two police officials have got "Inspector General of Police Padak" for their performance in the investigation into the murder of Rajon.
Suronjit Talukder is an inspector of the Detective Branch of Sylhet Metropolitan Police and also the investigation officer of the case, while Gopal Chakrabarty is an assistant commissioner of SMP.
IGP AKM Shahidul Haque handed over the award on Thursday, Rahmatullah, ADC (media) of SMP told The Daily Star yesterday.
On November 8 last year, a Sylhet court sentenced four people to death, two to life imprisonment and 10 others to different jail terms in the case filed for torturing 13-year-old boy Sheikh Samiul Alam Rajon to death over "theft" in the city's Kumargaon on July 8.
