The accused, Kamrul Islam, who fled to Saudi Arabia soon after the murder was brought back on October 15 and the next day he was produced before the court.

On Sunday, Kamrul's lawyer Ali Haider  Faruq submitted a petition praying for recalling all the 36 witnesses as Kamrul was absent during recording of their testimonies between October 1 and 15. But the court rejected the petition.

The court will start recording depositions of the witnesses, including the complainant and Rajon's parents, today and decided to hear arguments on October 25.

On July 8, a group of brutes bludgeoned Samiul Alam Rajon to death in Kumargaon Bus Stand area of Sylhet Sadar upazila as a punishment allegedly for his crime of stealing a rickshaw-van. One of the culprits even filmed the horrendous scene to share it on Facebook.
