11 teachers held for supplying answers to SSC examinees in Rajshahi
Police arrested 11 schoolteachers and a student on the charge of supplying answers to SSC examinees after leaking a question paper during mathematics examination at a centre in Bagha upazila of Rajshahi yesterday.
Police said Abdul Kader, secretary of Bagha Islami Academy High School centre, assigned Rafiqul Islam, an assistant teacher, to bring question papers from Bagha Police Station in the morning.
Rafiqul, however, stole a question paper and gave it to the teachers.
Later, the teachers made the solutions to the questions at the office of Prochesta-92, a volunteer organisation, near the centre, and were supplying those to their students.
On information, assistant commissioner (land) and executive magistrate Shimul Akter and Officer-in-Charge Ali Mahmud of Bagha Police Station rushed to the office and arrested the 11 teachers, including Rafiqul, and the student.
Later, a court sent the arrestees to jail after police produced them before it, the OC.
