Dhaka University students demo for Santals

Dhaka University students today demonstrated at campus premises demanding a stop to the oppression and repression on Santals of Gaibandha.

Wielding placards demanding stop to their eviction, about 200 hundred students and teachers of anthropology department stood in a human chain at Aporajeyo Bangla premises.

“We condemn and protest the eviction of Santals,” said Hassan Al Shafie, chairman of Dhaka University’s anthropology department. “There are efforts to further marginalise the Santals.”
