Son of former Chattogram city mayor Mohiuddin tests Covid-19 positive
The youngest son of Awami League leader and former Chattogram city mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury has tested positive for Covid-19.
Bourhanul Hasan Chowdhury Salehin, also the younger brother of Deputy Minister for Education Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury, is receiving treatment in isolation at his residence in the port city, our staff correspondent reports.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. Salehin has been running a fever and coughing since Wednesday, informed his mother Hasina Mohiuddin.
"His condition is better now," she added.
Salehin's sample was collected at Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases (BITID) in the port city; he tested positive last night.
Dr Selim Akter Chowdhury, chief health officer of Chattogram City Corporation and also brother-in-law of Bourhanul, said that the patient returned home from Dhaka on April 29 and developed symptoms of fever and cough on Thursday.
