JnU announces 2026-27 admission test dates, applications open Nov 15
Jagannath University (JnU) will begin its undergraduate (honours) and BBA first-year admission tests for the 2026-27 academic year on January 1, 2027.
The online application process will start at 12:00pm on November 15 this year and continue until 11:59pm on December 10, according to a university decision.
The decision was made today during the 80th special meeting of the university's Academic Council, held at the vice-chancellor's office conference room. Vice-Chancellor Prof Md Rais Uddin presided over the meeting.
According to the decision, the admission tests for the 2026-27 academic year will be held across five units.
The units are: Unit-A (Science and Life & Earth Sciences Faculty), Unit-B (Arts and Law Faculty), Unit-C (Business Studies Faculty), Unit-D (Social Sciences Faculty), and Unit-E (Fine Arts Faculty).
According to the schedule, the Unit-A admission exam will take place on January 1, 2027, followed by Unit-E on January 8, Unit-B on January 15, Unit-C on January 22, and Unit-D on January 23.
All exams will be held in Dhaka from 10:00am to 11:00am using the multiple-choice questions (MCQ) method.
To participate in the admission tests, applicants must have passed their SSC or equivalent examinations in 2023 or 2024, and HSC or equivalent examinations in 2026.
For Unit-A, applicants require a minimum combined GPA of 7.00 in SSC and HSC or equivalent exams, with at least 3.00 in each exam. For Unit-B and Unit-D, a minimum combined GPA of 6.00 is required, with no individual GPA below 2.75.
Unit-C applicants must have a minimum combined GPA of 6.50, with at least 3.00 in each exam. For Unit-E, the minimum combined GPA is 5.50, with no individual GPA below 2.50.
The meeting also decided that academic activities for the 2026-27 session will commence on April 4, 2027.
