Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon today said a graduate degree will be the baseline qualification for key management roles in schools, colleges and madrasas.

“Whether it is an intermediate college, degree college, school, madrasa, or primary institution, the baseline requirement will be a graduate degree,” he said at a press conference at the education ministry.

According to the minister, committees managing educational institutions will continue to be formed under the existing legal framework.

He said the current government cannot afford to delay policy decisions in the education sector.

“We cannot fall a year behind. We must continue with the existing system and move forward,” he said.

Responding to concerns about the rise of coaching centres and admission competition, Milon said the government may introduce in-house academic support systems within institutions to reduce reliance on private coaching.

He added that the government is currently reviewing several policies related to school governance, recruitment, and institutional management.

The minister said the planned reforms are part of a broader effort to strengthen the education system through policy adjustments and consultations.
