Union Capital holds 28th AGM
Union Capital Limited held its 28th annual general meeting (AGM) at the Gulshan Shooting Club in Gulshan-1, Dhaka on Wednesday.
Qazi Moinuddin Mahmud, chairman and independent director of the non-bank financial institution, presided over the meeting, according to a press release.
He expressed his gratitude to the shareholders, customers, regulators and well-wishers on behalf of the institution.
Mohammad Anwarul Hoque, Mohammad Eklas Uddin, Parimal Chandra Chakraborty and Mohammad Mashiur Rahman, independent directors of the institution, joined the AGM.
A large number of shareholders participated in the AGM virtually from across the country. They approved the major agendas placed before the meeting.
The shareholders expressed their full confidence in and support for the steps taken by the current board of directors and the management to restore the company’s operations.
They also assured the board of their full cooperation so that the company can conduct its business activities in the future with its previous reputation.
Among others, Md Ferdaush Hossain, the administrator appointed by Bangladesh Bank, and Md Abdul Hannan, company secretary, along with representatives of the accounting firm Arun & Company, and the scrutinising organisation Suraiya Parveen & Associates, and officials of the institution, were also present.
