Prime Bank hosts seminar on youth empowerment at Chittagong University

Prime Bank PLC, in collaboration with the University of Chittagong and the Young Economists’ Society (YES), recently organised a seminar, titled “Empowering Youth: Engaging and Inspiring Youth in Banking Season 2.0”, under the bank’s flagship academia banking initiative, ‘PrimeAcademia’.

The seminar aimed to enhance students’ understanding of banking, financial literacy, career readiness, and leadership skills.

Prof Mohammad Shamim Uddin Khan, pro-vice-chancellor (academic) of the university, attended the event on the university campus in Chattogram, according to a press release.

MM Mahbub Hasan, senior vice-president and head of financial inclusion and school banking at the bank, delivered the keynote speech, highlighting the importance of financial literacy, responsible money management, and building healthy financial habits among young people.

He emphasised that early financial awareness plays a vital role in developing responsible citizens and future leaders.

He also shared practical insights on savings discipline, digital banking awareness, personal financial management, and Prime Bank’s initiatives in youth banking, school banking, inclusive banking, and digital financial services.

Siraj Uddin Chowdhury Rubel, chief executive officer and founder of HR Perception, conducted a special CV writing workshop, providing participants with practical guidance on preparing professional CVs aligned with corporate expectations and career opportunities.

Sarker Mehadhi Reza, senior vice-president and regional head of the Chattogram region for consumer banking at the bank, also conducted an insightful session.

Among others, Prof Mohammed Saiful Islam, registrar of the university, and Prof Md Enayet Ullah Patwary, dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, shared valuable insights on youth empowerment, employability, leadership, and skill development.

Rahnuma Rahman Nikita, president of YES, and Shah Musa Al Kazim, its general secretary, along with teachers, students, and officials from participating organisations, were also present.
