Pragati Insurance settles Tk 18 lakh claim for road accident victim

Pragati Insurance Limited, one of the leading non-life insurance companies in Bangladesh, has settled an insurance claim of Tk 18 lakh following a recent road accident involving its policyholder in Cumilla.

Md Rezaul Karim, adviser of Pragati Insurance Limited, handed over the cheque to the deceased's wife as full compensation for the insured value of the damaged vehicle at the insurer's head office in Dhaka, according to a press release.

Syed Sehab Ullah Al-Manjur, managing director and CEO of Pragati Insurance; Amar Krishna Shil, chief financial officer; Mostaque Ahmed, head of claims; and a representative of Bank Asia PLC, were also present at the handover ceremony.

In addition, policyholder Md Abul Hashem, a senior official of Bank Asia PLC, along with four members of his family, was killed in the accident that took place recently on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway, where the car was completely damaged.
