Community Bank to collect BREB electricity bills nationwide
Community Bank Bangladesh PLC has signed an agreement with the Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB), enabling customers of all Palli Bidyut Samities under BREB to pay their electricity bills through the bank’s branches and sub-branches across the country.
Shamsul Haque Sufyani, managing director (current charge) of the bank, and Md Masud Parvez, director of financial monitoring (Northern Region) at BREB, recently signed the agreement at the latter’s office in Nikunja, Dhaka, according to a press release.
Under the agreement, customers of all Palli Bidyut Samities under BREB will be able to pay their electricity bills conveniently, securely and efficiently through Community Bank’s nationwide network of branches and sub-branches.
Milia Sharmin, member (finance) and joint secretary of BREB; Md Idris, controller (finance and accounts); Sharmin Mahmud, secretary of the board; Md Zia Uddin, director (finance); and Himel Pal, director (finance), attended the event.
Among others, Md Ariful Islam, head of corporate banking and head of business (branch) at the bank; Md Tanjim Morshed Bhuiyan, chief information technology officer; Sujat Haque, unit head of the corporate banking division; Md Shariful Islam Kadir, chief financial officer; and Mamun Ur Rahman, head of the alternative delivery channel (ADC) and head of the managing director’s coordination team, were also present.
