Youngone launches country's largest rooftop solar plant in KEPZ
Youngone Corporation, the Korean multinational conglomerate in Bangladesh, today launched country's largest rooftop based solar electricity system in its Korean Export Processing Zone (KEPZ) in order to meet part of its power demand through renewable sources.
The company opened 16 megawatts of its target to generate 40 megawatts (MW) of electricity through the rooftop of its factory.
Nasrul Hamid, state minister for power, energy and mineral resources, inaugurated the plant virtually.
Lee Jang-Keun, ambassador of the Korea to Bangladesh, and Kihak Sung, chairman and CEO of Youngone Corporation and Korean EPZ, also spoke at the inaugural ceremony.
