Bangladesh’s SR Chemical signs Tk 100 crore investment deal with three global companies

SR Chemical Industries Limited, a subsidiary of Bangladesh’s SR Group, has entered into a Tk 100 crore joint investment deal with companies from China, Canada and Germany.

The partners are China's Puyang Cleanway Chemicals Ltd, Canada's Kings Pacific Enterprises Ltd and Germany's Steinbach Chlorine GmbH, according to a press release issued today.

Under the agreement, the joint venture company, SR Pacific Chemical Industries Limited, will establish a modern manufacturing facility in Bangladesh to produce trichloroisocyanuric acid (TCCA), a widely used chemical for water treatment and industrial applications.

The project will use chlorine produced by SR Chemical Industries Limited as a key raw material, creating an integrated local production chain.

The entire output of TCCA is planned for export to international markets.

Initial work on the plant installation has already commenced, with commercial production and exports targeted to begin in the second quarter of 2027.

The investment agreement was signed on behalf of the respective companies by Asif Rabbani, managing director of SR Chemical Industries Limited, and Xinke Wang, managing director of Puyang Cleanway Chemicals.

The joint venture is expected to mark a significant step towards expanding Bangladesh’s chemical manufacturing sector through international technology, expertise and investment.

It is also expected to contribute to export diversification and strengthen Bangladesh’s position in the international chemical market.
