Stocks rebound after 2-day losing streak
Dhaka stocks returned to the positive territory today after falling for two days.
The DSEX, the benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), edged up 6 points, or 0.09 per cent, to 7,043 at the end of the day.
At the DSE, 150 stocks advanced, 154 fell and 73 remained the same.
Turnover hit Tk 1,193 crore, which is 3 per cent lower than the previous day's Tk 1,231 crore.
Stocks of Beximco Ltd traded mostly that worth Tk 137 crore followed by Fortune Shoes, Orion Pharmaceuticals, Bangladesh Shipping Corporation, and Saif Powertec.
Stylecraft topped the gainers' list that rose 9.93 per cent followed by Rahim Textile Mills, Aramit Cement, Alltex Industries, and Apex Tannery.
Tamijuddin Textiles eroded mostly that bleed 7.30 per cent followed by Union Insurance, Rahima Food Corporation and Shyampur Sugar Mills.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also surged today. The CASPI, the main index of the bourse of the port city, went up 27 points, or 0.13 per cent, to 20,629.
Among the traded 308 stocks, 117 rose, 147 fell and 44 remained unchanged.
