Pakistan high commissioner summoned

Bangladesh has asked Pakistan to further strengthen security in all Bangladesh missions there to avert any "unwanted or offensive" activities.

Director General of South Asia wing of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs yesterday conveyed Bangladesh's position by summoning Pakistan High Commissioner in Dhaka Rafiuzzaman Siddqui, according to the ministry.

A cracker blasted on the wall of Bangladesh Deputy High Commission compound in Karachi around 5:30pm on Tuesday, a diplomat told the news agency over the phone.

Deputy High Commission in Karachi reported it to Dhaka, said the diplomat, adding that they did not know who threw the cracker from nearby street.
