Truckers to go on 48hr strike on Oct 12

Bangladesh Truck-Covered Van Owners-Workers Coordination Council yesterday called a 48-hour strike across the country from October 12 to press home their nine-point demand, including amendment to the Road Transport Act.

The transport organisation announced the programme through a press release yesterday.

Earlier, Osman Ali, general secretary of Bangladesh Road Transport Workers Federation, called the strike at a meeting at Rajbari Community Centre near Karnafuli Shah Amanat bridge in the city on Saturday.
