BSF rescues Bangladeshi woman ‘trafficked’ into India
India's Border Security Force rescued a Bangladeshi woman, who was trafficked into India, from West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district, an official said yesterday.
The BSF also arrested an Indian man over bringing her to the country illegally.
Acting on specific intelligence, BSF troops from the Bhithari border outpost rescued the woman around noon on Monday. The woman is from Gaibandha district of Bangladesh, the BSF official said.
The suspected human trafficker was identified as Tarial Gazi, a resident of Dharkhanda village under Swarupnagar Police Station in North 24 Parganas.
