Smuggled clothes worth Tk 4 crore seized in Benapole

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh seized smuggled Indian clothes, worth over Tk 4 crore, from Amrakhali in Benapole on Thursday night.

Lt Col Salim Reja, commanding officer of BGB 49 Battalion, said on information, a BGB team raided the area beside Benapole-Jashore road and recovered a huge quantity of men’s and women’s wears from an abandoned lorry around 11:30pm. 

The clothes were later deposited with Jashore customs warehouse, he said. 

A case was filed with Benapole Port Police Station.
