Another dies showing symptoms

A 35-year-old man died, after showing coronavirus symptoms, at Shaheed Shamsuddin Ahmed Hospital yesterday.

A resident of Sylhet's Kanaighat upazila, the man was admitted to the hospital on Friday with fever, cold and respiratory problems, said Dr Sushanto Kumar Mohapatro, resident medical officer (RMO) of the hospital.

Samples from his body were sent to the laboratory of Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College for Covid-19 test.

In the afternoon, he was buried at a graveyard in Kanaighat upazila.

The RMO said 13 patients were receiving treatment at the isolation unit of the hospital yesterday. Of them, three were Covid-19 patients.

The 100-bed Shaheed Shamsuddin Ahmed Hospital was turned into a corona isolation unit to serve coronavirus patients and also those showing Covid-19-like symptoms.
