Bangladesh’s first English feature film, “The Grave”, has been shortlisted in the reminder list of productions eligible for the 94th Academy Awards, with 276 other films.

Bangladesh first state financed English movie will be competing for nominations alongside 276 movies which includes popular movies such as “Eternals” and “No Way Home: Spider Man”.

I wish to see a world, where we could rejoice together on different occasions. Being an actor, I also hope that I get to play characters that help me grow, and refine my craft.

As the film fraternity recovered from the pandemic and adapted with the ‘new normal’, the industry saw a bloom near the end of the year. It was a breakthrough year for Bangla films not only in terms of local box office, but international acceptance.

Eminent dancer Sharmila Banerjee is the lead Manipuri instructor at Chhayanaut Sangeet Bidyatan. She also spearheads the dance school, Nritya Nandan. During the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971, she alongside her family were forced to flee to India, as their home in Raozan, Chattogram was completely destroyed.

The Daily Star caught up with five prominent contemporary directors, who have shared their perceptions of the kind of narrations they would want to portray, if they make a film, television or web project based on the liberation war.

He will also appear in “Operation Sundarban”, “Casino”, “Shaan”, and “Girgiti”. We caught up with the actor to know more about his work.

On the other hand, she is in talks with director Souvik Kundu for the film, “Ay Khukhu Ay”, opposite Prosenjit Chatterjee.
