With Eid-ul-Fitr fast approaching, the Bangladeshi film industry is buzzing with excitement. Audiences are eagerly waiting for the new titles to release, and the promotional whirlwind has already begun.

Beyond his long-awaited return to cinema, Mosharraf Karim is particularly excited about the film’s release during the festive atmosphere of Eid. “My fans and well-wishers have been waiting for this comeback for so long. That wait will finally be over. I earnestly hope they will enjoy the film,” he expressed.

For the first time in her career, Jaya is set to appear in a Bangladeshi web-series, which will premiere on Hoichoi on March 28. Titled “Jimmi”, the series is helmed by acclaimed director Ashfaque Nipun.

Shahiduzzaman Selim, a National Film Award-winning actor and a veteran figure in Bangladesh’s theatre and film industry, is set to return to the big screen this Eid in the much-anticipated film “Daagi”. Starring alongside popular actors Afran Nisho and Tama Mirza, Selim takes on a bold new role in this Shihab Shaheen directorial, which is expected to draw significant attention during the festive season.

Mim believes that when that death penalty is enforced, potential criminals will be afraid to commit such crimes. "Light punishments like imprisonment or monetary fines are not enough. Hearing about the death penalty will surely instil fear, and no one will dare to commit such horrific crimes. When the talk of execution spreads among people, crimes will decrease rapidly. There will be no mercy for rapists, no sympathy for them. We demand justice, and the punishment must be executed immediately."

The recent incident of the rape of eight-year-old Asiya, being abused by her relatives, has left the entire country shocked. Alongside “Amalnama”, Zahid will also appear in “Utshob”, a film directed by Tanim Noor, set for release this Eid-ul-Azha. Reflecting on his choices, he added, “I don’t take on projects unless I truly like them. After my break, I’ve worked on two projects and enjoyed both. The audience will see me in different roles in these films.”

This Kamruzzaman Roman directorial is the third instalment of the “Jinn” franchise, produced by Jaaz Multimedia. Although Shajal Noor appeared in the first part, he was not in the second film. However, the actor will be seen in this third instalment. “I can assure the audience that they will be amazed by the film. It may primarily belong to the horror genre, but it is completely entertaining. This time around, the story also includes a blend of action and romance,” he added.

Speaking about his character in the project, Rashed Mamun Apu shared, “I play a journalist from a small town who is also a TikToker. He works for a little-known online news portal. I thoroughly enjoyed playing this character as well.”

In the web-film, Tama takes on the role of Parveen, a character that she found deeply immersive. "It took me quite some time to detach myself from Parveen, even after filming ended. For days, I struggled to move on. This character is one of my personal favorites," she revealed.

Although Eid-ul-Fitr is still a little while away, audiences are ardently anticipating the films scheduled for release during the festive season.

Anondo has recently completed filming for “Manushtike Dekho”, directed by Gazi Rakayet. In this film, he plays the role of a RMG businessman. "This project is incredibly well-written with an excellent ensemble cast, including Mamunur Rashid, Tariq Anam Khan, and many others. I am portraying the antagonist in the film."
