In our society, a man is simply a man — a protector and provider with a linear existence. Women, however, are put into similar moulds that force them to lead multidimensional lives. Thus, a woman’s heart is deeper than the Pacific Ocean — containing secrets and stories born from her social identities, the phases of her life and lived experiences with others. These narratives often go unnoticed within the patriarchal system that prevails. A group of women artists has now decided to share their memoirs through an art exhibition titled “Untold Story”.

The exhibition features 19 artists from the 1998-1999 session of Charukola. After the participants warmly welcomed the guests, their cordial speeches started.

Under the theme “Solo Together”, the two artists come together in a shared artistic dialogue while retaining their distinct artistic languages and approaches.

On August 13, Bengal Shilpalay inaugurated ‘The Quiet Within’, a solo exhibition by Bangladeshi cinematographer and artist Rashed Zaman, the contents of which are a mediation between painting and photography.

Exploring the intersections of women, domestic spaces, memory and identity, Sarah Jabin’s second solo exhibition, “Chowkath”, invites viewers to reflect on the cultural traditions passed down through generations of Bengali households. The exhibition opened at La Galerie, Alliance Française de Dhaka (AFD) on July 31.

The little details, the sepia tones of the entire documentary, the vibration – everything genuinely felt like a spring breeze for a spectator, soothing the eyes too. She has displayed some of her lovely photographs of different built spaces and nature as well.

In the heart of the Bangladeshi monsoon, the image of the entire country transforms into a landscape marked by both hardship and romance. In this delta, the monsoon is a double-edged sword—a blessing or a curse, depending on the intensity of the rain. Yet people living in cities, where flooding is often less destructive than in rural areas, have learned to adapt to the season. Even so, a gentle monsoon turns nature into a work of art, inspiring countless artists. “Rainscape” is an exhibition dedicated to that artistic expression.

After participating in several group exhibitions throughout his student life and career, he has decided to exhibit his life’s versatile artistic work in his first solo art show.
