Attempt to grab govt property: Court frames charge against Sirajganj-6 lawmaker

A court in Shahjadpur of Sirajganj has framed charges against local lawmaker Hasibur Rahman Swapan in a case filed over alleged attempt to misappropriate property with fake documents.

The court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Abu Shahin Khan Konok framed the charges against Sirajganj-6 (Shahjadpur) MP Swapan and a land deed writer (Muhuri) Abdur Rashid yesterday.

Earlier, a senior Sub-Judge Md Tofazzal Hossain filed the case bringing allegations of attempt to take a government property (land) in the lawmaker's name by showing false documents with fake signatures on July 25, 2018.

Advocate Abdul Hai, a counsel of the lawmaker, told our Pabna correspondent that the court framed the charges in presence of both the accused.

Both of them are now on bail, the lawyer said.
