Attack on UNO Wahida: Govt employees protest in Ghoraghat

Protesting the attack on Ghoraghat Upazila Nirbahi Officer Wahida Khanam, government employees formed a human chain at the Hilly-Ghoraghat Road in Dinajpur today.

Under the banner of 'Ghoraghat Govt College and Upazila Officers Club', the human chain was held at the upazila's Central Shaheed Minar premises this afternoon.

Condemning the attack, Professor Munirul Islam, principal of Ghoraghat Government College, demanded the perpetrators of the barbaric attack be found immediately through a fair investigation.

He urged the law enforcement agencies to arrest the criminals and bring them to book.

Meanwhile, the upazila's Officers Club arranged a press conference today at the press club where they demanded that the real behind the attack be found soon and the attackers quickly punished.

UNO Wahida of Ghoraghat of Dinajpur and her father Omar Ali were seriously injured in an attack by miscreants at her official residence on the Upazila Parishad premises early Thursday.

She is now undergoing treatment at the National Institute of Neurosciences & Hospital, Dhaka.
