Souls rock Australia on Pahela Baishakh
Popular band Souls has rocked Pahela Baishakh festivities in Australia recently, where they performed onstage on April 16 at Leumeah Lodge in Nicholls, Canberra. The programme was a reunion organised by Old Rajshahi Cadets' Association. The band also delighted audiences at a concert on April 17, where they performed 20 of their popular songs.
The start of the Bangla New Year also marked the band's first performance in Australia, notwithstanding the band's lead vocalist Partha Barua's previous solo performances there. Regarding the band's performance Partha Barua said, “It gives us great pleasure to be able to perform Bangla songs outside of Bangladesh. I have performed solo here before, but to have the band with me is a great deal. We have participated in the Baishakhi festivities with the Bangladeshi community here, which has been an amazing experience.”
The band is expected to return to Bangladesh on April 22.
