Shurer Dhara's Chaitra Sangkranti and Borsho-boron at BICC
Marking Chaitra Sangkranti—the last day of the Bangla year—and Pahela Baishakh, Bangla New Year, leading cultural organisaiton Shurer Dhara will hold a Chaitra Sangkranti programme and Hajaro Konthe Borshoboron at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the capital. The programme will be held on April 13 and 14.
Shurer Dhara has themed its Chaitra Sangkranti celebration on lyrical plays. The programme will feature songs from four lyrical dramas: “Mymensingh Geetika”, Rabindranath Tagore's “Mayar Khela”, “Hingshute Doitto” for children and another tale of Parshuram. The programme will run from 6 pm- till 12.05am.
Rezwana Choudhury Bannya has planned the programme, while Amirul Islam and Shahidul Alam Shacchu are the producers. Standard Chartered Bank is sponsor of the programme.
The next day, Shurer Dhara will usher in Bangla year 1423 with a choral rendition of Tagore's “Otho Otho Re”. The programme will begin at 6am and Shurer Dhara will perform till 9am. However, many other artistes and bands will take part in the daylong celebrations, jointly arranged by Shurer Dhara and Channel i. Sunsilk sponsors the event.
Hajaro Konthe Borshoboron 1423 is themed on 'Manusher Jonne Bhalobashar Gaan', said eminent artiste and Shurer Dhara founder and Principal Rezwana Choudhury Bannya.
