Murshid Jahan releases “Meghdoot”

Noted Narzul Sangeet artiste and the vice president of Nazrul Sangeet Shilpi Parishad Murshid Jahan's latest album “Meghdoot” was launched at Chhayanaut on Thursday. The album launching ceremony also featured projection of several music videos.

Veteran singer Ferdausi Rahman unveiled the album as chief guest. Regarding this, Murshid also added, “I am very happy and thankful to all my fellow artistes for being persent and specially Ferdausi Rahman for launching the album.”

Directed by Sheikh Jashim, the album consists of various genres of Nazrul Sangeet: Raga-based songs, Shyma Sangeet, adhunik and more. Talking about the album, Murshid said, “It is an experimental project and I have specially prepared it for the youngsters. My purpose is to introduce, inspire and enlighten them with the versatile musical legacy of Kazi Nazrul Islam. I have recorded the songs with modern musical instruments, without violating the structure of original melody and swaralipi.”
