Abducted Kurigram schoolgirl returns home
The schoolgirl who was abducted on Thursday evening from her house at Gunaihachh union of Kurigram's Ulipur upazila returned home this afternoon.
She was rescued today and taken to Kurigram General Hospital for medical test, said Anisur Rahman, sub-inspector (SI) of Ulipur Police Station.
After the completion of the medical test, she was taken to the Judicial Magistrate Court, said Anisur, also the investigation officer of the case.
The court recorded her statement and sent her to the District Women and Child Suppression Tribunal Court, he added.
Meanwhile, the victim's father has expressed fears that the accused or his men might launch another attack on their house as no arrests have been made yet.
He demanded immediate arrest of the criminal and his punishment.
According to police, Sohel Rana along with his associates abducted the schoolgirl on Thursday evening after launching an attack on the family members.
The next day, the victim's father lodged an abduction case accusing Sohel Rana and 11 others with Ulipur Police Station.
Moazzem Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of Ulipur Police Station, said they would ensure the security of the victim and her family.
Police is trying to nab the accused, he added.
