9 UK returnees placed on institutional quarantine; 64 others home quarantined
Nine Bangladeshis, who returned from the UK today, were sent to institutional quarantine as they all had high fevers.
The nine were among the 73 Bangladeshi citizens who returned from London and Manchester by two flights of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, an official of the Aviation Security (AVSEC) at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport said.
Apart from those sent, the remaining 64 were advised to stay in quarantine at their respective homes, he added.
Biman today operated its last flight on the London route. With the suspension of flights on this route, the national flag carrier folded its wing on all 17 international ones from today.
Biman earlier suspended its operations in 15 destinations following the outbreak of Covid-19.
