72 more police personnel recover from Covid-19

At least 72 police personnel who earlier tested Covid-19 positive have recovered today.

The police personnel were released from the Central Police Hospital after they tested negative for the virus in two consecutive tests, Sohel Rana, assistant inspector general (media) of Police Headquarters.

The 72 who have recovered today brings the number of police personnel to have recovered from Covid-19 to 147 so far.

The police official said they have made all arrangements for treatment of infected police personnel while discharging duties to keep people safe from the virus.

According to a tally of Police Headquarters, around 1,594 police personnel have so far been infected with Covid-19 till this noon. Of them, 745 are from Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

Seven police personnel have died from infection while around 4,000 are currently in isolation or in quarantine.

As Central Police Hospital is struggling to deal with the huge number of patients, police authorities have booked a private hospital to treat its members.
