406 more Bangladeshis brought back from KSA, 2 hospitalised with high fever
A special flight of Saudi Arabian Airlines today brought back 406 Bangladeshis, who had been stranded in the kingdom, on a special flight after the Gulf nation suspended air communication with several countries, including Bangladesh, to contain the spread of coronavirus.
Of the returnees, two were sent to a hospital in Dhaka as they had high fever while the rest were asked to remain in self-quarantine at home, said a doctor at the health desk of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA).
The special flight of the Saudi Arabian Airlines landed at HSIA at 5:50pm, said a member of Avsec (Aviation Security) of the airport.
Most of the 406 Bangladeshis went to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah, M Mafidur Rahman, chairman, civil aviation authority of Bangladesh, told The Daily Star.
On Tuesday, Biman Bangladesh Airlines brought back 409 Bangladeshis, who were also stranded in Saudi Arabia.
