3 sent to jail for spreading coronavirus rumours in Khagrachhari

Three people were sent to jail for spreading rumours of a death case caused by coronavirus in Khagrachhari district this afternoon.

The accused are identified as Sujon Das and Mitu Chowdhury of Dighinala upazila as well as Aditya Bhattacharya of Manikchhari upazila of the district, said Khagrachhari Additional Police Super MM Salahuddin.

"They were arrested under the Digital Security Act and sent to jail for spreading rumours that a man died of Coronavirus in Khagrachhari," said the ASP.
