Navy launches massive tree plantation campaign
Bangladesh Navy has launched a massive tree plantation campaign at all naval bases and other shore establishments in Dhaka, Chittagong, Khulna, Mongla, Kaptai and Cox's Bazar as part of the Tree Plantation Campaign 2006.
Chief of the Naval Staff Rear Admiral M Hasan Ali Khan formally inaugurated the programme by planting an `Araucaria' sapling at the Naval Headquarters compound at Banani in the city yesterday.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Navy Family Welfare Association has also undertaken similar programmes at different naval bases.
