Workers go for abstention at a DEPZ factory
About 700 workers of sewing section of Honorway Textile Ltd at Dhaka Export Processing Zone (DEPZ) have been observing work abstention since Sunday demanding cancellation of termination of 35 fellow workers.
The workers staged peaceful demonstration in front of the factory yesterday. However, workers of other section including knitting, dyeing and packing, resumed operation.
As authorities of the factory remained indifferent regarding the termination order, the agitators left the factory premises in afternoon.
