Blast damages Pak railway line to Iran

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack in Naushki, about 200 kilometers (120 miles) southwest of Quetta, the capital of southwestern Baluchistan province, said official Shoaib Ahmed.

No train was scheduled to pass on the track at the time of the explosion, Ahmed said. Engineers went to the area to repair the line, he said.

Railway sabotage is common in Baluchistan, with most attacks blamed on ethnic Baluch tribesmen demanding the government pay higher royalties for resources extracted from the region.
