A new dimension toward local consumer satisfaction

Organised by JAN Associates, the local distributor for Canon, the event was attended by Kazuto Ogawa, the president and chief executive officer of Canon Singapore Ltd., along with the company's Vice President, Melvin Ho.

"We at Canon are pleased to see how the local market for Canon products has grown over the years," said Ogawa, adding how the varieties of Canon inkjet printers and scanners have gained a local market share of 65 per cent and 40 per cent respectively. He also mentioned how at present JAN Associates are selling Canon products in 50 outlets in the country, while anticipating the retail network to grow to 80 outlets by the end of 2007.

Ogawa also mentions that 'CanonLink@Dhaka' is an extension towards adding to its success in local market towards enhancement of consumer satisfaction, where customers can see and tryout the entire range of Canon products at the single venue, along with attaining a vast range of allied technical advice from the technical customer support team present at the centre.

"The display centre is an outcome of the brand's outstanding performance in the local market," said Moyeen Khan, minister for Science and ICT expressing profound satisfaction on Canon's contended research and development activities towards consumer satisfaction. "Canon's hard work and annual investment in Research and Development has gained them 80,000 patents worldwide. This is another aspect that Bangladesh can take notes from," Khan added.

"Asian consumers have made an extremely important contribution to Canon's overall success line, and thus it is anticipated that Canon will continue focusing greater attention on developing products for Asian markets, taking into consideration the regional characteristics of each market," Ogawa mentioned.

A whole new line-up of the brand's product-launching followed in, showcasing PIXMA iX5000, iP 1200, iP 1600, iP 4200, MP 150 (All-in-one), Laser Shot LBP 3300, and 3460.

Later at the event, Ogawa handed prizes among the top performing master dealers, the best performing master dealers and the best performing dealers of 2005.
