Help project positive Bangladesh to world: Mohiuddin

"The independence we enjoy now is hard-earned. So, it is an obligation to all of us to bring glory for the country," the Mayor said while inaugurating an exhibition of photo features at Chittagong Press Club (CPC) auditorium yesterday morning.

Focus Bangla, a nationwide photo agency, organised the exhibition styled "My Beautiful Bangladesh", a photo album comprising 32 photo features by Nadim Qadir, advisory editor of the agency.

Mayor Mohiuddin commended Nadim and Focus Bangla for publishing an impressive book on Bangladesh and promised to buy 100 copies of "My Beautiful Bangladesh" for the students of CCC-run schools.

"My father was martyred in Chittagong by the Pakistani occupation forces during the liberation war in 1971 and therefore a bit of personal emotion is involved here in Chittagong," Nadim said adding, "We all should try our level best to build a beautiful Bangladesh."

Focus Bangla Managing Director M Kamal Hossain, veteran journalists Obaidul Haq and Iskander Ali Chowdhury also spoke on the occasion.

Ten percent of the total proceeds of albums and posters, displayed at the exhibition, would be handed over to Acid Survivors Foundation, the organisers said.
