'BNP has expanded education'

He was speaking as the chief guest at a ceremony organised by Tungibari Upazila administration of Munshiganj district for distributing cheques of government grants for different educational institutions.
Presided over by Tungibari Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mohammad Abdul Hamid Joardar, the function was addressed by Munshiganj Poura BNP President Shahjahan Sikder, Mirkadim Pourasabha chairman Mohammad Hossain Renu, BNP leader Kazi Abdul Jabbar, Kathadia-Shimulia Union Parishad chairman Delwar Hossain Munshi and headmaster of Dighirpar A C High School, Mosharraf Hossain.
The minister said a party was hatching conspiracy to destabilise the country, but the people are not heeding to their calls are they know BNP is a party of peace, development and progress.
Shamsul Islam said the previous government could not give the country anything, but terrorism, loots and copying in examination halls.
They also destroyed peace of the people creating godfathers, he said. He called upon the people to extend their support to keep the development trend going.
Later, the minister distributed cheques for over Tk 13 lakh among different educational institutions under Tungibari upazila.
In the afternoon, he distributed prizes among the winners of the annual sports competition of the Khalilur Rhaman Pre-cadet and High School.
