One killed as villagers clash in Sylhet

Golapganj upazila here yesterday.

Of the injured, condition of six is stated to be critical.

The incident took place as Arab Ali, 75, over hot exchange of words with rival villagers at about 9:30am over the reconstruction of a kutcha road in the village Dakshin Madangouri.

At one stage they rivals swooped on Arab. Some other villagers with lethal weapons also joined them within minutes.

Arab succumbed to his injuries on the way to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, police and locals said.
