Four-day PWD conference begins

Housing and Public Works Minister Mirza Abbas speaks at the inaugural ceremony of the four-day annual conference of the PWD at its conference room in the city yesterday

About 200 field-level engineers and officials, apart from the high-ups of PWD and their parent departments, are taking part in the four-day conference.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest, Housing and Public Works Minister Mirza Abbas stressed the need for ensuring the quality of development projects and transparency of project work and implementing those within the stipulated time.

PWD Chief Engineer AFM Monjurul Islam chaired the session while Secretary of the public works ministry Iqbal Uddin Chowdhury was present as special guest.

The conference will focus on an array of issues over the next three days.
