Never miss your calls

The validity of this view about IT has been proven true time and again throughout the world including Bangladesh, though a little late. This view has been further reinforced by some recent IT innovations.
The latest of such innovations is the Smart Attendant developed by Business Automation Limited. The solution acts as a tool for improving an organisation's communications system by handling incoming calls, keeping and delivering messages to the employees, etc.
"But, what is new about it?" Star Tech asked Sharmin Akhter, customer relations officer of Business Automation.
"The Smart attendant actually is an automated telephone operator that can function 24/7," she replied.
"In order to understand how the solution works, one needs to realise the basic challenges faced by a business or organisation in business communications," she explained.
She pointed out that proper phone handling at reception is extremely necessary to ensure effective business communications.
The personnel at the reception needs to be efficient at call transferring, receiving and writing messages, delivering messages to recipients in the earliest possible time and delivering the basic information of the company to callers.
She explained that most of the time the operators fall into various problems that may lead to losses.
"Operators usually mess up when there are multiple calls to be answered or transferred," she explained.
She also pointed out that the greetings by operators often vary depending on their moods. Also, some operators may not be able to take messages for the employees and pass it to them on time.
"Smart Attendant is a solution to these problems as it can pick multiple calls simultaneously without requiring any human intervention," she said.
The Attendant can handle calls instantly and guide callers to desired extensions. It also ensures that callers are getting a fair chance at talking or dropping messages to desired individuals.
The solution, compatible with any standard PABX, also offers a range of notification options for every message.
Greetings can be customised on the phone according to day or time.
The Attendant also comes with unlimited number of user mailboxes, size, time, flexible call routing or group creation, call diversion, message alert, e-mail or SMS, remote message retrieval option, call back number option, and brochure, location or other information dissemination even after office hours.
"The system is easy, user friendly & has a PC-based configuration menu," said Akhter, while talking about the attendant.
Already Business Automation Limited has sold the system to Hotel Sarina, Shore 2 Shore and Proshika.
"We have a number of orders from other organisations also," said Akhter.
