'Resist bombers unitedly
He urged ulema and members of the civil society irrespective of party affiliation to come forward to resisting the bombers and their patronisers to maintain the pace of development and progress.
The minister was addressing the national conference of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis at the Paltan Maidan in the city.
Ameer of the Khelafat Majlis and Chairman of the Islami Oikya Jote Shaikul Hadis Allama Azizul Haque presided over the conference addressed by State Minister for Religious Affairs Mosharref Hossain Shahjahan, Chairman of Avibabak Parishad of the Khelafat Majlis Moulana Obaidul Haque, Nayeb-e-Ameer Mufti Shaheedul Islam MP, Secretary General Moulana Abdur Rab Yusufi and Joint Secretary General of Jatiya Party Sadeq Siddiqui.
Describing the bomb terrorism as a national crisis, the information minister said, "We have to march forward unitedly with development and progress by crushing the bombers, who are the enemies of the nation and Islam."
He said the whole nation have to rise against the enemies to overcome this national crisis.
Shamsul Islam said Prime Minister Khaleda Zia has taken a time-befitting initiative for a dialogue to build a national unity among all political parties to root out the enemies of Islam, and the independence and sovereignty of the country.
Mosharref said the government is determined to combating bombers and their patronisers and planners.
He urged the people to build a mass resistance against the bombers.
