Police harassment of madrasa students condemned
Terming the action ill-motivated, they demanded an immediate end to the harassment of their students and teachers in the name of hunt for bomb attackers.
They also protested the bomb attacks carried out in the name of establishing Islam.
Islam never supports such violence, said Abdul Jabbar, secretary general of Qawmi Madrasa Board, at a press conference at the National Press Club.
The so-called Jihad pursued by the bomb attackers is not consistent with the real concept of Jihad, he added.
Islamic Oikya Jote Chairman Mufti Fazlul Haque Amini MP said an anti-Islamic vested quarter backed by some locals and patronised by some foreign forces that want to destroy the country are carrying out the bomb attacks.
This quarter wants to create anarchy in the country and a division between the Islamic parties and the government, he added.
The leaders also announced some programmes, including rallies at divisional level on December 15 and a grand rally at Paltan Maidan on December 18.
