GP HSE Week begins

GrameenPhone employees take out a procession marking the inauguration of HSE Week.
GrameenPhone Ltd inaugurated the fifth annual Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Week on Sunday, says a press release.

"Safety for better tomorrow" is the theme of this year's HSE Week.

This is a part of GrameenPhone's on going process to promote awareness about health, safety and environmental issues throughout the company and in the society at large.

"Let us commit for 'Safety for a better tomorrow' -- only our commitment can make it happen," GrameenPhone Managing Director Erik Aas said in a message to the employees.

Deputy Managing Director Frank Fodstad inaugurated the HSE Week at the corporate head office. "HSE is every ones responsibility. Safety should be conferred to all aspects of our work," he said.

An art competition was held at Fantasy Kingdom for the children of the GP employees marking the HSE Week. Director Finance NKA Mobin distributed prizes among the winners. Emad Ul Ameen, Director HR, was present . A vaccination programme for the family members of the employees was also organised on Saturday on the occasion.

The HSE Week is being observed at all GP Regional offices, including service desks and distribution centres in the country. GrameenPhone's regional offices in Chittagong, Khulna, Rajshahi and Sylhet arranged separate programmes to observe the week.
